Player Announcement

The bands Tuned Percussionist Janet Malits has retired from the band and her duties with the band. Janet has been a much valued member of the Percussion section and has been a member of the Committee since the bands formation back in 2013.

The band would like to wish Janet all the best and would like to pass our thanks for all her hard work over the years. Don’t be a stranger Janet! Will hopefully see you soon.

Internal Promotions

The band are delighted to announce 2 internal promotions within the band.

Emily McDaid has moved up from the Back Row to join the Front Row Tutti Cornet section.

Frazer Dickson has also moved from 2nd Trombone to Solo Trombone following the retirement of John Davies.

We are very fortunate to have a wealth of talent in the band and it’s great to be able to reward this and also the hard work they’ve given to the band since joining us.

Player Departures

It is with regret that we announce the departure of 2 players from the band respectively. Bill Overmire on 2nd Baritone and John Davies on Solo Trombone.

Bill has been with the band since our formation in 2013, originally on Bb Bass, Bill moved to Baritone in 2018 and has also served on the Committee. Bill enjoyed immediate success after leaving the band as he assisted
Skelmersdale Band in the National Finals of Great Britain, representing the North West and achieving 2nd Place in 4th Section.

After retiring from his work duties, John has been heavily involved in many ensembles across the Wirral and Merseyside; John has been with the band since 2015 and has been a key figure in our success with Solos both in concerts and contests. John has recently taken the decision to retire from lots of these ensembles and take some time for himself; which is much deserved!

Many thanks to both players for their hard work with the band and we wish you the best of luck in future endeavors and please don’t be a stranger! Our doors are always open!

Migrating Students

Since the bands formation in 2013, we have been very fortunate to have strong links with students who have come to the city for University studies and looking for a Liverpool Brass Band. Unfortunately, as with these things, they eventually move away to work, move back home or continue further studies elsewhere.

We would like to thank Tom Butler, Rachael Armitage and Peter Seaton for their time, dedication and hard work with the band over the past few years. It has been a pleasure to watch you all grow as individuals and players.

We wish you all the best of luck in your future endeavors and please don’t be a stranger! You are always welcome.
